Turns on the contrast between a warm gold centre and the violets and blues spreading from it. Channels of deep, intense purple run through the lighter lilac, marking where the denser paint travelled fastest. The colour thins toward the outer edges, some currents breaking into blue before they reach the ground. Fine speckle gathers in the paler passages, where the surface held less pigment and let the separation show.
